Thank you so much Lilli and Guido for another gourmet meal to remember, and a full house as well. With a raffle we raised almost 500tl for the Cheshire Homes. We have now raised enough for a new vehicle to carry the patients and their wheelchairs from their homes to the centre and back, this has been ordered and hopefully here by the end of the year. Our next project is to expand the facilities to accommodate more patients. We move around the world to the Carribean for our next meal. If you cannot wait until next month, Sunday 31st October Halloween at Guidos, come dressed up and you could win a prize, details to follow very shortly.

The Girne Rehabilitation Centre in Ozankoy, is a branch of the Cheshire Homes that you know in the UK. We are the only one in Cyprus and we cater for the disabled in any shape, form or nationality. There is an excellent Physiotherapist at the centre, who can help with physiotherapy as many expats and visitors can vouch for. The home was the brainchild of Canon Rider, Attila Berberoglu and 2 other businessmen, who raised funds to build the centre after being given the land. There are overnight facilities, but unfortunately no funds to run them. The committee concists of 6 TC's and 6 ex Pats including Canon Riders daughter. We are totally reliant on donations and fund raising, there is no financial help from the Government. Over the last 9 months new committee members have raised the profile of the home thus helping it survive.

Scruffdog: Thank you very much, you explained that very clearly, I am sure you must get fed up by getting asked the same questions. You have to wonder what the world would be like if there wasn't such charities, as the governments of the world don't give two hoots about their own kind.
