James Watt

He didn't invent the steam engine, but developed it so that it became a practical and efficient source of power that effectively started the industrial revolution.

though i cant disagree with maggie and winnie i am disapointed by the lack of imagination and the desire to be "right" that leades the followers to copy there betters.

Have the guts to be diferent.

Msg 24

How can you support Charles Darwin and William Willberforce AND Enoch Powell ?

The first two emphasised the 'human-ness' of all mankind and the latter tried (unsuccesfully) to draw divisions.

branwell, how can you question someones personal choice.

Now if you had said "I don't understand" before your post it would be a little less accusive don't you think and might then stop this thread from deteriorating from a reasonable question to a disagreement for no other reason than you did not like the individuals choice.

I am sure many people disagree with Maggie Thatcher as a choice but not one has questioned it.

You might perhaps look at Powells speech on the killings at Hola Camp in Kenya.

msg 29 If you are suggesting that Enoch Powell was a racist then you are obviously unaware of the man's

exceptional education and his Political Acumen.Against all the odds he said what needed to be said, not for any racialist reasons ,he was simply bound by his political position as MP for Wolverhampton and by it's constituents to tell the "TRUTH"
