Skybox HD setup problems need answers

Brought over an old box connected it to the satellite but no channels, tried reseting the transponder to 12207 but still no good anyone got any answers. Connection is good on the Freesat box which I normally use.

Is the box tied to the viewing card, phone sky and tell them what box your card is connected to. They will link them together and you should then get the channels within a few hours.

If you press Services, 4, 6 Do you get a good signal quality ?



If you do, put the box in standy



then remove power for 1 minute



then hold down the back up button on the receiver ( not the remote!) and restore mains power



DO NOT release the backup button until your see 4 lights on the front panel - or a msg on screen.. "updating software please wait... this can take up to 10 minutes ..."



Do NOT remove the power while this update takes place





Wait 3 minute AFTER the lights go out / msg disappears - the box is re-starting, and try again





Everyone should do this once a month - it forces software / firmware updates via satellite

DUH.. I just re-read your msg.. you say it's a HD unit..!



Please press Services, 0, 3, Select, to get to the setting menu and navigate to the signal test...





the rest still applies..



the sequence I gave you applies to a std unit or SKY+ ( not black HD model)



Q: Do you have a white card in the unit?

hold down the backup button on the receiver, THEN connect to mains.. do not let go until four multi-coloured lights come on - if you are tuned in on the TV - you will get the updating software message - when you see either you can let go..

thanks for that, i already updated the Sky+ box , as a result of this information and will do the same next week when i get the new HD box
