Reported about two months ago problem with Sky HD box, message stated 'This is the wrong card for this set top box'.At that time that was the second time i had replaced the card.I then arranged for third card to be brought out

which worked for 6 weeks,again this card has gone wrong with the same message.All efforts to try to rectify

problem manually have failed as they had on previous occasions.

My Questions are,

Is this happening to HD boxes only.

Is it happening only to 1.8 dishes or does it happen to 4.2 dishes

Also if i took my HD box to someone who had a 4.2 dish and then manually tried to re boot etc as

suggested by Sky would this work as i presume the signal is stronger.

I note that the setting which has to be entered on the 1.8 dish is 12.207 V 27.5 2/3.Is this the same for a 4.2 dish.

The card for the box i have is From Eire where i have a property.

This is again one for mmmmm i think or somebody who has had similar problem.

Never had this problem with my HD box (also from Eire) and 1.8 dish. Has the card been paired with the box? If it has, as Mark suggests check you have a strong signal in your system menu. If so, switch off the box and reconnect with the backup button pressed on the HD box, after 30 secs the system should go into downloading the lastest software and then reboot, don't disconnect power during this process.

Thanks Coffer,Interesting you have not had problems.The make of my HD box is Pace the black and silver one.

I have tried all the methods of rebooting including the one above to no avail.How long have you had your box

installed here?

The card is paired the signal is strong although it does waver occasionally.

I can get ITV HD when it is working but not channel 5 despite putting in the code for it.

Are you able to record Programs ?

To be fair to Sky they have been very good they have given me two months free subscription and always answered

emails,however as this is the third card i can't really email them again as they wanted to send an engineer out

last time.If i cant solve it i will have to wait until i return to Eire.
