Last night we had one of the best evenings on the Island and all for 30 TL!!!!! Tony and I booked for the cookery lesson at the Black Olive Cafe. It started at 4pm and we got home at 10pm. Vicky and Unal gave us an experience that I will always remember. The theme of the evening was Turkish barbie with Meze. They taught us all so much as to how to do the real thing even from actually lighting the barbecue. All the ingredients were laid on and we sat round a huge table with Vicky at one end showing us how to make certain Mezes followed by Unal at the other end preparing authentic salads, and also solving the mystery for me as to how to make the perfect Cypriot rice. They had prepared the evening well and had worked very, very hard to teach us so much. After the lesson, we were joined by Unal,s parents, a long table was laid outside, whilst the family cooked for us all, the prepared food. Everyone spent a glorious evening chattering and eating with an authentic feel of a Cypriot night.

I have to agree, it was a fantastic afternoon/evening with the most delicious food - well done Vicki and Unal, keep up the good work!!

Forgot to say, it was fantastic to meet so many lovely people and met up with people that we had met briefly in the past and got to know so much better,
