Today in Mambos I spied Guido (Authentic Italian Resturant Owner) and his wife taking full advantage of this special offer! He even had extra bread and they both left their plates clean, commenting that it was excellent value and was delicious!

Birdman I don't think he would have said anything else out of common courtesy and manners. An owner is only allowed to be rude, odious, obnoxious to customers on his/her own turf. I too was there this afternoon and the fare was okay for the price charged. No more or less. I do wish restaurants knew how to fry chips by double if not triple flashing them in hot oil, a major fault of many an outlet. As a chef on 'his day off' I can understand every reason not wishing to cook and want to dine out. Richard

Richard, that was a bit uncalled for mate. I'm considering going in and trying the ribs, do like a nice rib or 2. Where exactly is Mambos? I know the name and must have passed it hundreds of times but can't picture in my head where it is.

Richard I'm sorry you feel that way, nothing is easy here and to do this takes tenacity. I did enjoy what I had today , and how they do it for the money i cant take its hard work. They deserve praise and I will certainly give it because I really enjoyed it, I needed comfort food and I got OT, Guido ordered the seafood dish and many baskets of bread as he has to have a kilo with every meal. This was supplied without question. I really liked my meal and there was nothing left on his plate. Cathy you are a star we were late and i forgot you had the bingo, i came from the hospital and the bloody injection should have put me to sleep but i was hungry, you supplied my need and i ha vent had corned beef hash for many a year. I loved it

Mike Just up the road from the Pork Shop going away from Girne on the same side. I had the pork spare ribs (3) which were okay but cooked more in a ratatouille sauce rather than a BBQ sauce. Chips I've already commented on and the side salad with coleslaw, fine. Richard

Cheers for that Richard, from what you have said about the ribs I don't think I'll bother. I hate ratatouille type sauces. I've got a rack of ribs in the freezer that I can do how I like anyway. (Only about 6tl at Bells) Lilli, I love cornbeef hash aswell, we'll get slaughtered by Hans now ;-) I always have to put a load stuff on to give it more taste. Eat a bit with ketchup, eat another bit with brown sauce, another bit with worcestershire sauce, etc etc. (All of it with loads of freshly ground pepper)
