I am really tempted to create a poll site now just to see how the members feel about who should be mods and whether certain changes should be made to the forum ie avatars, ability to edit comments, ability to post photos, limits on banning, added requirements for registration.



Any other suggestions you might have.

Its for the benefit of its members to share, laugh , joke, give knowledge. They have a hard enough job getting rid of the multiple ids posters who turn up day after day. Already this week I spotted 4, but hey they leave me alone i do the same. Remember these people give up their time for free, yes we could all be mods but who would want to be. Your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. You critise if they give an opinion yet want them to have knowledge or live in the TRNC to advise. Do you really want a faceless crew and not a human that shares, jokes, gives help and opinions. To me to ban someone seems to be whoever picks up on it, they all live in different places , its not like they can brief or debrief every night, that's who gets the blame. We don't pay for this, its our pleasure to read insult, advertise, advise etc.

Paul, it doesn't have to be though, there are massive amounts of improvements that can be made to the forum which I can understand Izzet doesn't want to change some but others I don't fully understand.

Why can't we edit our own posts, quote direct posts instead of hoping people understand what post we are folowing, add different types of smilies, insert photos instead of linking to other sites, actually as I write these I am starting to realise why Izzet does many of these things and it is quite clever but as he doesn't gain much from advertisers I don't know why he enforces it so much. Hits are massively important if you want to sell advertising space and the hits Izzet must get are phenomanol but he isn't selling that much advertising, confusing me just a little

Paul, the bells and whistles are what many people have wanted in the past, you can tell by the amount of my postings that I am happy to use the forum in the exact conditio it is, I am curious why Izzet has not adaptedd and/or upgraded the forum. He got quite a lot of financial assistance from the members for keeping the site open when the costs went up and on the breakdown of costs there was one for scripting and ugrades, I for one have not seen any changes to the script.

I don't care about the money I sent or if it doesn't change, what I care about is being tiold that it costs a gret deal of money to do things when they don't seem to happen. I would assume that the server security bill alone is massive.

Just my read on what has happened on here. I have no problem with the mods, I think a few more could be added and I think if anything that they should enforce themselves more often but I would like to see the forum get updated and for the money Izzet said he pays it should be done.

Paul.......I didn't contribute financially to the forum because I believe that it should stand or, fall as a commercial 'ad'venture. I don't believe that Izzet made any promises as to changes and I don't feel that any are necessary.

paul i think it was because it was brought down twice if you remember they needed some safeguard, you know im thick when it comes to anything techno but firewall or something, and the only 200 people who gave helped, i think izzet was open with the costings, i cant remember the exact figure but im sure what was donated he still had to pay a lot more. Like so many other members you think everything should just be accepted as is, I am afraid that things are not that simple. There are a vast amount of members who don't post or do so very rarely and whilst I freely admit that this site is the best medium in North Cyprus for almost everything it could be improved upon which I can only see as being better for Izzet. I questioned that, not the mods, not the existing membership or how many aliases they have, I don't think it matters and it is nearly impossible to stop unless you start from scratch.

Back to the script comments Paul. I did not mention them originally, Izzet did and you are correct, he did not promise anything. He did however mention that he was asking for assistance dur to the high costs of keeping the site running which included as Lilli rightfully said higher security but it also mentioned new software, coding changes (scripting) and other such items. As nothing has changed visbly on ths site since that request or in fact in the last 2 years as far as I can tell, I am curious what the changes were at the price declared and if there were none why Izzet found it necessary to quote them.

From what you have written I can assume you have done some work with web sites and as such will know that almost anything Izzet has been requested to do on the site is all within the original software, he just needs to authorise them in his base system.

He can change all levels to allow Editing of own posts, uploads of files, many other things which will fill his server space up

This site, as far as I can see, is Izzet's own creation - a bespoke design and not an off-the-shelf product.



The layout and format is exemplary IMHO.



I am sure that he could add some whistles and bells (extra smileys, pictures etc.), but where do you stop!



Seems that the security has been improved as their hasn't been much downtime recently.

You might be right that this is Izzets own creation although it is similar to a few old design forums but it is very easy to download free off the shelf software which does this and many other things and import the SQL databases for all historical posts and comments.

Try this - log out of any Google accounts (email etc.) and type into Google "computer problem" - what do you see?

Actually Paul this site is designed to get registered on any search engine crawler system, google will do it and the others will pick up on it but here is where you are missing the system understanding slightly, they pick up on the links to C44 these days not on the posts from it.

The statistics regarding hits, new pages, downloads and several other figures can be used as a very good tool for selling the advertising space to the site.



Let me give you a question so that you might explain the theory behind your statement.

What advantage does Izzet gain from being the most popular website found on a North Cyprus search except for being able to sell the statement to advertisers to make revenue.

The only way to make money is to sell space to advertisers, that needs constant hits figures, he has that allready but not much advertising, in fact in his own words not enough to pay for the site, change maybe?

You said that if I googled "computer problem" I would get something that would obviously prove your point. I have done it on a PC running Windows and google chrome. I have done it on a mac running safari and firefox and yet I still don't understand what you are spouting about. Every title has computer problem in it, even the 3 you posted which is against what you said so put up or shut up and do the rest of us a favour by banning yourself again.

You managed to prove yourself wrong and then have the audacity to say you are letting me off the hook, you are without doubt the most annoying poster I have ever come across. I really hope our paths are destined for different directions.
