cypgab wrote "Why Malcolm - what would you gain from it? " Surprisingly, we would gain an idea of how the TRNC legal system is perceived by our readers but also to see if readers are happy with the current system (and NCFP can cut down on related articles) or unhappy (which endorses NCFP's current focus) With 62 votes in so far, 87.1% are not confident in the TRNC legal system. Cypgab, have you any particular reason for your enquiry?

speedster, NCFP is about people living in North Cyprus, that's what the NC is for. Just because I find the UK legal system excellent does not mean I have to expect the same from the TRNC. At NCFP we deal with issues that concern people here and one is the legal system no matter whether it is about Geoff Day's theft accusation, mortgaged properties being auctioned or discovering that even if you have a will it won't be processed very quickly after a death, etc, etc. If readers were happy with the legal system then NCFP would have less articles about legal matters. So far, 73 readers have voted and 89% said they were not confident in the TRNC legal system.

Mal A futile exercise as you know the thinking of most. A straw poll like this serves no purpose as it has to be a rhetorical, idiotic posed question! Keep up the good work. Richard

Msg 11 With due respect and reference to your last post, how is it possible that your daughter had the 'curse' (sic) and became pregnant?! A mystery to me, but I'm only a male! Richard

In the UK legal system all people are treated equally regardless of race, colour or religion. The same in the USA and all other developed countries. In the TRNC those born and bred on the island are given preference to those born abroad. a) In the courts b)By the local authorities c)By Kibtek, for electrical connection charges d)Water connection charges and payment cards And it goes on and on....................................... Unfortunately they see nothing wrong with this.................but if they came to the UK would they be happy to be treated in this way. It is time for the TRNC to show all of us and more importantly the world what a warm and welcoming place it really is by endorsing EQUALITY FOR ALL !!!

I was born and bred in the UK and I see nothing wrong with this either. I applaud countries that put there own people first, it gives me a reason to be proud of my country for looking after me just because I was born in that country and deserve to be treated better than someone who chooses to emigrate there. I just wish I could say that I am proud to be British but unfortunately I can't. Have you ever noticed that it is the outsiders who always want things to be improved to what they believe to be correct rather than the insiders who were there all the while. Try convincing a middle Eastern county that they should change their policies because an immigrant is just as entitled as a citizen and have lots of patience. I am only assuming here that you are originally from the UK but here is something I have tried to point out on many occasions, the rest of the world rarely does things the same as the UK and believe it or not the NC systems are based on UK design.

If people don't like the legal system here, they do have a choice as to stay or leave. This is the TRNC not the UK.

Cypgab, have you any particular reason for your enquiry? I think you already have an idea of how the legal system is perceived - so what would be the gain? Brinsleys response echoes my own view. My reason for asking was to see if the question was for real. I have the answer now. |
