Does anybody know if there is any way I could send a parcel from Kent to North Cyprus by courier or other way, not by Royal Mail. Any advice will be appreciated.

Both my mum and my brother have sent me stuff from Kent using the Royal mail international registered post. You can track it from the UK and again from here on the KKTC Postasi website http://www.postadairesi.com/index.php?lang=tr. I had it sent to a business address but still had to go to the post office to sign for it. It usually takes about 5 - 7 days to get here.

There is a guy named Ramadam Kelebek, who along with his son Arif, transport to and fro SE London (Peckham) and Lapta. "Kelebek Transport".

They do this about 4-5 times a year.

They use a convoy of long-wheelbase vans with refrigerated trailers, sometimes using other members of the family to help out when they are particularly busy.

Ramadam has been doing these transportation trips for over 25 years.

I have used Ramadam and Arif six times now to send items (large and small) to NC - delivered to my propoerty - and will continue to use them in the future.

Ramadam is currently in the UK with his vans being backed for a return trip to NC - if you are interested in using Ramadam contact me or post your contact details here...

RCT, I can but ask for you. Don't hold your breath - the set-up is a family affair.

My Mum sent me a smallish box about 20cm x 12cm but only around 3 or 4 cm thick and it cost just under £8.00, my brother sent me a small envelope very lightweight it was just a memory card and it cost £5.60. Obviously it goes by size and weight.

Re recent R.C.T.Man. posts... Ramadan's vans left Peckham for Cyprus a few days ago - I didn't get a chance to pull over and speak with him before they all left I'm afraid.

I anticipate Ramadan will be in Cyprus by this weekend, all being well. Sometimes there is a delay of a day or two at the port in Italy.

If you are in NC, try these numbers from Monday...

Ramadan Kelebek

0553 8602589

0392 8211442 (house)

Arif Kekebek (his son - and speaks the better English)

0542 8525659

As I said previously, it is a family affair - but you never know, you might strike lucky.

Good luck.
