"Big deal... Who wants to drive 50miles to go to a Lidl of all places...." Just a thought, but anyone going to the Airport etc anyway, and would like a break from the rip off prices up here. Luckily for me the Paralimni one is much closer.

Think the one in Paralimni is opening 5th November, and I believe there is one being built near the Olympic roundabout in Nicosia, just over Metahan border.

There are enough signs up already and if I am still free, I will go, love Lidl, always used to shop there, had the best fruit and veg and always on offer. Hope they do here, must be better than some of the veg here, have you seen the state of the potatos lately.

ALL stores open on 4th. I can not see any reason not to at least check out the prices. The Loonies will say "why don't you move there?" And that's why most of us think they are loonies!! I live in the North, pay for residency, drive a TRNC registered car. I pay my dues and can shop where the hell I like.

Lidl has some good stuff at good prices, but I wouldn't want to do all my shopping there, its quite a "warehouse" experience.
