Do you have references ? The last woman we used ate us out of house and home, doubled the electricity bill, and helped themselves to my CD colletion. To add insult to injury my neighbours told me they only visited four times a week, so our dogs were left unsupervised for long periods of time. She was paid good money to house sit our home and care for my dogs. We expected her to do the job she was paid for. Not steal from us and leave the dogs with health problems due to lack of being allowed to go to the loo. Now we use the kennels at least they are honest and cheaper.

Thanks for that Steve. We have since used Top Dog Hotel and they are great. No more untrustworthy people in my home! We can actually go away knowing that out dogs are safe, cared for and love there. We would prefer someone to look after our dogs in our home but so many untrustworthy people here, after our last experience never again. The owners there did tell me they would be possibly offering a service in your own home from next year. This is due to the high number of dogs being diagnosed with that leishmania, who can no longer be kennelled safely. The good thing is they don't take in strays from the street, so i am happy that my dogs are in the best possible care when i leave them. Its nice to be able to lock up your home and come back to things ok.

Hi all, We will be in Cyprus from January and will be able to house & pet sit. We have worked in the domestic service industry for over 25 years and come with excellent references from employers. We have both been police checked in the UK. I can promise that both your home and pets will be taken care of 24/7 in your absence. The butlers wife

The person who did this to us was reported to the police. At the time they weren't that helpfull. I can see why. What they said was, why would you pay cash to someone who has no work permit or business licence , who you don't know, and let them live in your home? We had no contract either. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing. Would we do this in the UK? No we probably wouldn't so why did we and do others do this here? How ever honest someone tells you they are, and you think they are, you have no redress if you employ someone cash in this way. Many of these so called petsitters don't even live here full time! At least with someone who is a kimlik holder you can always track them down. Ceviz i am no way taring you with the same brush, just making a point that you cannot trust people here, how ever honest they claim to be.

I dont need a work permit....my kimlik is on record over here I've been looking after this house and two dogs for 3months now The owner has cancer and is having treatment in UK. By the way I'm not claiming to be honest I AM HONEST! SORRY FOR YOUR WRONG CHOICE OF HOUSESITTER BEFORE HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK IF YOU DO IT AGAIN. |

Blade. I appreciate your comments but it doesn`t make it any easier for the rest of us. It basically means that if Linda and Colin cannot look after my animals, I am not going anywhere because I will be frightened I am employing the same woman. You say she is still advertising.
