I my (limited) experience, cold and wet, although the sun is still quite warm when (and if) it comes out. Mind you, we might just have been unlucky

Dont do it! February is the worst month, it is cold and horrible. I have lived here for nearly 6 years in all seasons and February is definately the worst, sorry!!! I have to say I love it here, but I would rather be in the UK in Feb than here as the houses aren't kitted out for the cold weather, and believe me it does get cold and miserable. Sorry to disappoint.

Well, my first visit was in the 3rd week of February this year, and I managed to get the "Pink Panda" sunburnt look.

yes febuary the worst time. Seems freezing, because the temperatures can be lovely during the day but drop dramatically once the sun goes down. Its th total drop that makes it very cold, from say 25 to 8.....bring sheepskin slippers, electric blankets, and hotties. We have been here for 7 of those febuary s. oh we still get power cuts especially when the weather is storms and thunerous rain. Sue

Agree entirely that the dramatic drop in evening temperatures can make Feb extremely cold. However, after aggregating some 10 winters here I believe the bigger problem and sometimes danger is dampness. Unless much precaution taken, by that month of the year, the very large majority of buildings have their structure and fabric soaked by dampness and often leaks. This can invade wardrobes and bedding also and, is a real health hazard. Burning gas fires and oil heaters is no substitute for dry warmth such as radiator central heating or sufficient log fires to bring heat to all rooms of a property. Ideally this should be preceded by double brick cavity insulated walls over a damp course or membrane. Very expensive to maintain but an expenditure which is at the top of my priorities to enjoy life here to the full.

Disagree with comments re February being worst month for weather. August by a country mile for me. Why do so many ex-pats disappear in August?

So, it rains a bit during February. Well last year a bit more than a little but it was needed. Bring the clothes you would normally wear during a late UK spring. That should do. For me the winter months are the best months. Evenings are what I look forward to the most. Logs on the fire crackling away, rain battering the windows, nuts and cherry brandy after me pizza and beer. Bit of telly and a gardening mag. Heaven. Days are nice at around +/- 18°C but feels warmer in the sun, if you want warmer. August is the time to leg it.
