Is it just the bottom (oldest) leaves that are splitting? It could just be old age, so to speak. If its just the bottom ones, then simply cut them off to tidy up the plant.

If it looks as if it is dying is it too big to transplant into a prepared area of soft soil and compost after spraying the Yucca with a detergent from a garden centre ?. I am no gardening expert but sometimes plants here are ravaged by insects and only stick or bust tactics can work.

Sometimes the leaves split because they have been given a generous amount of water. Many are native to Mexico, so unless it is very small it should be treated as a semi-desert plant. Transplanting it into luxurious soil will probably make it grow soft and split even more.
