I am seriously contemplating starting a branch of the Society in the TRNC. I has intended raising it on the 9/11 thread but realised that some (most) of the posters there would struggle with the concept.



I would not want the Society to be infiltrated by the standard loony that will believe almost anything, so members will have to be vetted (there is a very good vet in Dipkarpaz that I use).



I know most people would be more than capable of producing serious evidence, so I would not like to sink to the lowest denominator (A quick squint at You Tube!!)



I personally have carried out scientific experiments only this evening. Using a perfectly good spirit level I checked my garden in 5 places.....Each one........ completely level. PROOF POSITIVE!!!!

Message 1 clearly states "a branch of the Society in the TRNC".

Mine is fine, checked it myself. It is an old adjustable army one which has had 3 new bubbles and never lets me down.

I do not need a spirit level. I was told in a school playground 60 years ago that Atlas became tired holding up the Globe and sat on it for a rest.

I have no interest in strange religions or sects and resent the insinuation that my belief in the obvious shape of the Earth is in any way odd!
