oceana if you are a gambler try Albania it has beauty and great weather and property is dirt cheap, but it is pretty lawless with a fair amount of mafiosa, some speculators are buying up land on the Adriatic coast and it is tipped to open up for tourism The black sea coast of Rumania is also nice and affordable

Just want to move for a peaceful life, to live live good and to see good. Albania doesn't seem like such a good country billybob. I want a summer country. nice beaches, views, no dull weather o crowded buildings. I haven't been there but i' guessing it's like that? Brinsley, what do you mean by msg 5? I have a British passport

A British passport is an EU one! A lot of the French current colonies come under 'France' so any EU member can take residence and work without hindrance. Richard

A friend of mine tries to keep getting me to go halves on a villa on some islands just west of Gambia/Senegal area. Aparently it's very cheap, spotless beaches and is taking off as a tourist area. (Can't remember the name of the islands though)

I assume then 'to start a life in' you must just have been born??? Just another posting about TRNC being the last place you should consider? I absolutely agree, we don't need that type of person here. It's not perfect here (where is) but it is as close as it gets. Just my opinion - and who am I?? Welll, according to OH I Know it all, he has learnt to say "yes dear/sweetheart/darling" whatever shuts me up...

Uruguay, Do some homework on the place, low population (about 3m), so low pollution, lovely beaches, good climate, cheap to live, cheap property and set to boom over the next 10 years or so.

Just a thought - this thread was started at 1.22 am and by 2am the originator is complaining that there's no interest! The Yucca thread mentioned was started at 3.30 pm. Maybe most people are tucked up in bed by this time? Maggie

If you're a scuba diver, or even a snorkeller, Grand Cayman would be wonderful - but getting a visa for residence might prove more than difficult - also, you'll need very 'deep pockets'!
