When staying in Alsancak in 2005, we returned to our rental only to find a herd of cows around the pool and two large calves in the pool swimming.... They has escaped from the farm up the road but their owner denied any responsibility... as they do!

We managed to lift the calves out, the poll had no steps or ladder (not that I'd expect a cow to use a ladder)... The landlord's suggestion was to throw some chlorine in and then it would be fine... yuk!

Of course the pool needed to be emptied scrubbed clean and re-filled. So that's what we did... bloody landlord, what a knob-head.

You should have killed them off, and filled your freezer with a year's supply of meat!

Geoff,

We didn't have the heart...

The poor buggers looked so forlorn, they were swimming to keep the heads above water and had that frantic scared stare in their eyes...

We'd been out for the day and have no idea how long they'd been in the pool but safe to say it was full of poo!

I think they were truly thankful to be rescued from a watery grave...
