Just a couple of concerts left.

Saturday 30th October, 8.30pm. Erol Emmioğlu. Piano Recital. Young Turkish Cypriot pianist performs works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Racmaninoff.

Friday 5th November, 8.30pm. Arman Ratip- Piano Recital. World renowned Turkish Cypriot pianist-composer Arman Ratip will perform his own variations on a theme of Paganini. The programme includes Turkish Folk Music and Space Music.

Arman Ratip started playing piano at the age of five. He studied music and pianoforte with his mother, one of the most famous music and piano teachers on the island. He started composing at the age of seven, fascinating audiences as a child prodigy. Later, his musical career took off in London when he recorded two albums of his own compositions and arrangements, and performed extensively in the UK. Do they have concerts in the early part of the year please as I will be in the area from Dec/March or maybe April

There are ad hoc concerts on regularly, but these tend to be advertised at the last minute

The two main concert in the early part of the year are the "Spring and Music festival" which runs from around mid April to mid May, and the "North Cyprus International Music festival" which has an opening concert on (or close to) the 21st May. This also runs for about a month.

Anybody have more info/website address for Erol Emmioglu, the (very) young, and very talented (to my untrained ear) Turkish Cypriot pianist? Heard him practising for his concert at Bellapais tonight but flew back to England today! Got his autograph on the grounds that he is going to be very famous in the world one day but would love to find more info and websearch has proved unsatisfactory!
