Hi Stokie, now not an expert but i've ran a few and continue to do so and a pedometer is not the best idea. If you can i would look at a garmin forerunner (or similar) so you can see the actual distance. Your steps differ running up hill and down and it would be difficult to make calculations. Also the Garmins come with great (very easy) software so you can see all your training runs and how you are improving and also some of the higher models have heart rate monitors. I'm currently training for another event here and use my Garmin if you want to see how it works. Also having ran a few if you need any help let me know and i'll pass on some inside info and help you put something together. Marty

I did some marathon training out in the TRNC last year, I found it was best to find a 5 mile route, and do laps. For longer runs it helps you can tuck water away, so you don't run. Also for a long run try up in the hills, drive up to the Tank ( not water) and do a run along this road, very little traffic, great views, and some nice hills to get those legs working. Terry

My pedometer uses 3Axes sensor technology, unlike other pedometers that have to be clipped to your waistband, it can be put around your neck, in a bag or a pocket. It also has a personal alarm. It allows you to: estimate the number of calories burned calculate the total distance travelled and also count the number of steps taken. it is brand new, never been used, still in its original packaging, complete with silver colour neck strap and battery. ozlemaytac@hotmail.co.uk
