My wife and I have booked a flight to Larnaca Airport arriving 20th Nov and leaving 28th Nov to visit and help our daughter settle in to her new job which starts 8th Nov.,and find a place to live and buy a car.

We have yet to book a hotel or villa so are open to suggestions but are wondering about car hire and border crossings.

Are we best to pay the extra to be escorted over the border and hire a car in the North or is it easy enough just to hire a car from the airport and drive over the border and do we need a visa to cross over the border.

Your help has been brilliant so far so thanks again in anticipation.

Hi BazzaSW,

If this is your first visit to the TRNC I would email Aone rentacar and hire a car from them. They will come to Larnaca and collect you and take you back to Larnaca. They charge you £25.00 each way, as long as you hire your car from them. Their rates are very competative and their cars are in good condition. They will take your passports when you reach the border and do all the formalities for you. You don't even have to leave the car.

You could try Amy Villas for your accomodation. They can also arrange taxi transfers and car hire for you through Pacific Car Rentals (or you can contact Pacific direct on info@pacific-rentals.com for a quote for car hire and taxi transfers).
