I was very surpised to see a two page article towards the front of todays 'Times' newspaper. The main thrust of the article is about the TRNC wanting to rid itself of fugitive criminals, in particular British ones. Soyer intimates that it wants to show the world it is ready to be integrated in to the worldly system and hence is working very closely with the British police. There is a great picture of Kyrenia harbour on page one of the article and a truly outstanding picture of Gary Robb on page two. Qoute from the article 'Gary Robb, a suspected drug dealer, has ploughed millions of pounds into an unfinished building project. The TRNC authorities would prefer him to complete the job before considering his deportation' end of quote Well he is not likley to finsih it if he is going to get deported. The article also has a case study on Amaranta Valley. Quote 'Mr Soyer believes that the TRNC should be allowed to come out of the cold, allowing Cyprus to show the world that Muslim Turks and Christian Greeks can live side by side - to say nothing of the impact that the end of the trade embargo would have on the Norths ailing economy' End of quote I love Soyers optimism

Surely the best way for TRNC to show that it really wants to become a member of the world community would be to immediately expel Gary Robb so that he has to face charges from which he fled the UK. These charges relate to serious drug offences. Since Gary Robb has recently admitted that he has been unable to finance current obligations ....he is Bankrupt. This is the case notwithstanding whatever amount of value there may be in property assets. Hence , the TRNC Government could correctly take into receivership his assets and complete the buildings having got rid of him. The status of TRNc would immediately be enhanced. The unfortunate people awaiting completion of his projects would feel that there is a proper end in sight.

Any serious government would have seized Robb's assets under Proceeds of Crime legislation and returned money to victims where possible. Too late now, though. This is what happens under a puppet administration with incompetence and corruption at its core. And complete numbskulls buying illegal property without engaging brain.
