When 'Contract of Sale' is not adhered to by the builder, which almost invariably is happening - who incurs the huge litigation costs every time?

Answer: The buyer!

Just ask your advocate how much it costs just to initiate a court case in TRNC, and even if you win, don't expect to recoup your costs, never mind any compensation awarded.

As for P2P or PTP - of course you must have committed to purchase and paid a substantial amount of money - your obligation is to submit the signed and notarised 'Contract of Sale' to the Council of Ministers.

Try doing otherwise and see how far it gets you!

petez/Msg 3: 'it goes without saying you have to do your research...' - blah, blah!

For pity's sake, don't come out with that nonsense!

If you have to do your own research, then ALL advocates may as well be made redundant.

Of course, silly me, I'm forgetting that they have already admitted that they have 'NO DUTY OF CARE' to their clients.

If they had, I, for one, wouldn't have lost half our life savings through this 'legal' system - so, chew on that, 'petez', and while you're doing so, spare a thought for all the other cheated victims of this 'justice system'.

I am very sympathetic to your problems,

A member of my family is in a similar situation in North Cyprus so I do spare a thought for the 'other cheated victims of this justice system' on a regular basis.

Can you tell me why you think we are bothering to do these articles?

(because when I get messages like yours I start to wonder myself! )

I realise you mean well, 'petez' - but you can hardly blame me for verbally retaliating!

The flawed 'legal' system and continued violation of the Constitution, the combination of which is causing so many people such huge financial losses and distress has now become too widely and notoriously advertised - so, what are these '5 Wise Men' going to do about it?

Unless they do something very quickly, and institute a thorough overhaul of the 'legal' system and address 'Human Rights' issues, and put in place the PR to advertise what they have achieved [so far, nothing!], the country will simply continue in 'self destruct mode'.

Although we [foreigners] came here for all the right reasons, we realise that we are increasingly unwelcome, and so many are being forced to leave for all the wrong reasons, which could so easily be put right.

Cont'd:

Take the three main towns: Girne - Lefkosa - Famagusta - millions upon millions of £'s worth of 'top of the range' motor cars and sundry other examples of utter wealth.

Now travel further afield - have you witnessed the appalling poverty that exists?

It makes me weep.
