Most people living here now won't be able to afford to live here once the Euro is in force. Prices will rocket and wages will increase.

If the UK government think I can live in UK on the pensions I receive then I think I will be able to live here if the prices go as high as UK prices. Came to stay so what does it matter anyway. I would not be alone as price rises will effect all people on the Island and not just the poor ex pats. Anyway, why would TRNC go to the Euro with all the pitfalls it has with it? The UK did not so why should we?

Hi everyone good morning What a pointless posting and the even more pointless comments. It will be at least fifteen years before Turkey gain entry to "Europe" and if and when it does it does not necessarily have to adopt the Euro as it's currency. I would suggest you all invest in a full package of Sky television so you are not bored and only have C44 as your recreational pursuit, you will be far happier!! Doug

Here's question for you, people from other areas of the EU are allowed to go to Britain and get benefit payments, these are (at the moment) designed to be able to let you live to a certain degree of comfort, my question is especially for those getting their pension, if the TRNC does join the EU why shouldn't those ex pats living there be getting a pensionable amount that's suitable for the country they are living in ? the EU allows you to live in any part of the EU so, should make sure you are looked after when you do.

Kavenkoy is quite right of course the prices would go up IF TRNC was in the Eurozone. With the Euro comes EC laws and the stupidity of the builders, lawyers and government would be out of the window. Resuly more people buying property. Anyway immaterial IMHO TRNC will be annexed by Turkey who have probably figured out by now that they don't want to go to the europarty but dont want to upset the hosts by saying so. Kavenkoy, Rowlo was having a pop at Richard which is fair game.He wouldnt have a go at you if he had read your occupation!

Dougscud, Good idea but Cyprus is already in the EU so it matters not what Turkey does. If there is an agreement then TRNC becomes a full EU member.
