Had already signed a couple of days ago and forwarded to everyone I know. Please take a minute out of your day to sign. The public outcry prevented this woman being previously stoned to death. Your signature could help save her. Well done Tenakoutou for posting.

If I was to muck around with a married Turkish Cypriot girl I'd be shot dead before bringing any diplomatic embarrassing international incident for the corrupt TRNC Government to deal with. Iran's Government is not fit for purpose and given the Yanks are so close, they may aswell go in and finish off the job! I'm sure plenty of true Persians would support them! It's now down to hanging rather than stoning, a very magnanimous gesture! Richard

Most people who watched the news yesterday will now be updated on the situation - the spokesman for Iran has merely mouthed a euphemistic 'wait and see'. What with this type of bestiality and the goings on in Pakistan, Iraq and now Egypt, one's faith in human nature can only be further eroded - too sad.

It's rather suspicious that her son admitted in the TV interview that his mother was guilty of killing his father with connivance of her lover. One can only wonder how much coercion is involved all round - plenty, I would hazard a guess. The son has already been arrested for giving the story to two German journalists, who were themselves subsequently arrested and, I believe, if I heard correctly, still in prison in Iran. Isn't it past time this dastardly regime was 'dealt to', big-time? According to a 'WikiLeaks' leaked document, the King of Saudi recently petitioned the US to 'cut off the head of the snake [in Iran]'. It would be interesting to hear the new Iranian member, Jatto's, views on the overall situation...........however, no doubt he won't [and we can't reasonably expect him to] express his opinion due to fear of retribution.

Such a shame that this stuff still goes on and not just in Iran. I think is was only recently that the French Presidents wife was called a 'prostitute' by the Iranian Government because she openly condemned this type of thing.

Supporting this cause is one thing but inviting an attack on Iran is another. Did the Americans not think that they would be welcomed in Iraq and Afghanistan before they invaded? They will be equally welcomed in Iran. They could do far better in the Arab populations by stopping their hypocritical approach to foreign policy in the area, supporting all the nasty and undemocratic regimes in that suit their interests and instead supporting real democracy in the countries like Saudi, Egypt and the rest of the crappy regimes that suits their interests. If the Iranians wish to kill this woman, they will no matter what petitions you sign but your efforts would be far more rewarding if you attempted to influence the policy of America from being one of selfish greedy oppressive blood suckers to helpful democracy supporters. And then pigs will fly even over the Muslim countries.

Yfred is quite right in saying that America's 'wish' to impose western-style 'democracy' is nothing more than a [they think cunning!] ploy to cloud the real issue - their greed for oil and minerals. Not only that, they use their 'oh so honourable' interventions to topple, what they claim to be corrupt regimes, as the means to test and therefore perpetuate their enormous arms/weaponry industry. Even so, many of these countries on which America has focused its 'attention' are, undeniably, utterly ruthless and corrupt - just 'Google' 'Amnesty International' to become acquainted with some of horrors being perpetrated.

Tenakoutou. Signed and sent. Glad to see you are still campaigning where necessary. The Wildebeest (bless her) and I were concerned for your safety when you published on another thread that you were as fit as a "Cage Fighter" We were not sure if you meant after you had left the cage as well as upon entering it !

deputydawg/Msg 22: On that particular thread, there wasn't much doubt in my mind that one constantly and unnecessarily confrontational 'detractor' and critic was, even if read as a veiled threat to some readers, openly intimating his intention of physical violence towards me. He knows who he is, as do several others I know. I counteracted by mentioning that I am 'as fit as a cage fighter', merely to dampen his enthusiasm for a direct physical confrontation - on reflection, I must admit that the use of such immature rhetoric might have had the opposite effect! The last thing I want, or need, is to become embroiled in this type of nonsense on this forum, as anyone of reasonable intelligence would. So, for this 'transgression', I proffer my profound apology to the 'Mods', or whoever else found the message in question distasteful.

Tenakoutou. Not distasteful to use mate, firmly fending off aggression with a good dose of resolve in a humorous manner then, applying your efforts to those who need it.

deputydawg/Msg 25: As you and many readers of this forum will have noticed, any comments I and many others adversely affected by the legal system have made, insofar as TRNC and RoC flawed laws are concerned, obviously deliberately intended to violate civilised ethical norms and mostly pertaining to the property market, surely cannot be construed as subversive criticism - indeed, they are warranted! Every society has its apologists and sycophants who, for whatever reason, find excuses to justify evil or wrongdoing perpetrated by corrupt, or totalitarian regimes. The reasons for such behaviour are many and include financial gain, or greed, survival of their own person, relations, or acquaintances, close relationships with those who hold the reins of power, or misguided political beliefs. Very often it's a combination of the above. Those who disagree should urgently reassess the motives for their own misguided logic! Re Msg 26: Thanks for all your efforts, Lilli - bless you!

One can only try to imagine the daily and nightly suffering, seemingly without end, that this poor Iranian woman is being subjected to - let's face it, it is unimaginable. And what, currently, does this poor soul have to look forward to - death by stoning, or hanging? - Again, unimaginable. Even though many of us heard her own son proclaim his mother's 'guilt' in murdering her husband in cahoots with her lover, surely this must be taken with more than 'a pinch of salt' when considering the torture and coercion involved - both for him and his mother. Perhaps his mother has said to him: 'Please try and save your own skin, my son. I won't hold it against you for telling the media that I am guilty - I am doomed, anyway; but if you publicly condemn me, it doesn't matter, because at least you have a better chance of being spared.' How tragic is all this? If you haven't yet signed this petition, please, please, make it your priority to do so NOW - because later may be too late!
