Tinted car windows not allowed in South

A friend of mine was turned back in her Range Rover at the Greek checkpoint in Metahan and not allowed over because her back windows were tinted. She had been over several times before to pick her family up but on Tuesday turned her away. They said it is an EU ruling - if the windows were windows were put in by manufacturers OK, but apparently you can get something sprayed onto windows (presumably to stop sun coming in) and this was on when she purchased the car. The chap then tried to peel this off until she stopped him. Just a warning to others unless the Greek was over zealous - I think not.

The eu ruling affects the front windows.Just seen a Road Wars programme where the nice policman peeled them off but left the rear windows on.

A friend of mine was stopped for the same thing last year his windows are very slightly pink and it does not obscure vision in either direction.

We were looking to buy a new car here & told the salesperson we wanted tinted windows & she said its illegal & when the car is in for an MOT they will remove them , as said above its ok if the car was produced like this !!

I think that tinted windows are sinister and that people who have them have something to hide.

The way things are going, the windows dnt last tht long once your over anyway lol
