starting next Tuesday Gary and I are walking from the tip of the Karpaz to the Lighthouse at the Cape Kormakitis just past Sadrazamkoy in North Cyprus. The route will hug the coast and is 115 miles long. The plan is to walk for four and a half days, that's a marathon per day for four days and a shortish stroll (about 13 miles) to finish it off. We leave on Tuesday the 16th November finishing Saturday lunchtime. People have said I should raise money for charity and I have chosen Help for Heroes, so if you wish to help then please visit http://www.bmycharity.com/simonharding if you can't or don't want to, then please wish us luck and if you see two guys trudging along somewhere between the Karpaz and Kormakitis between Tuesday and Saturday a quick hoot and a wave might make all the difference! Cheers! Simon

Hi Ruggy I have to say that we have been training for this for a few months now and wouldn't suggest that anyone take this on without such training, however walking in the TRNC is free so if you fancy doing it sometime please go ahead! Thanks Spider!

good luck. I agree that it's not a stupidly long walk, in the middle of summer maybe. It's for s good cause anyway If I wasn't recuperating from a dodgy knee I might have joined you, used to walking 25-30 miles at a time, admittedly not every day though ;-)

Simon, great idea ! What will be your route for the final stretch to sadrazamkoy ? Will you be walking along the coast road from the brothels , or the inland route through Koracam ? All the best, Martin.
