Has anyone lost a labrador cross female dog with red tag in ear

Hi all,

The above dog has been hanging around in the neighbours garden in Bellapais for the past few days, does anyone know if the red tag means she has been neutered by KAR? She looks approx 2-3 years old and looks like a cross breed golden lab/pointer. If you have lost her then please call 0533 8489359.

I think the red tag means the dog has been neutered - but don't know if KAR have done it. Somebody told me that the red tag has a registration number on it so that the dog can be traced and monitored. Have you tried ringing KAR?

Isn't the red tag a sign that the dog has been taken off the street, neutered and released back onto the street?

The red tag means the dog is a stray which has been neutered and put back on the stret. I could have been neutered by KAR but most likely by the TRNC authorities they have a great reluctance to put strays to sleep prefering them to kill themselves on the road or by eating poison.

If you do not recognise the dog or have seen it in the past hanging about, then it is possible that it has been dumped by KAR in an area where Brits might take pity on it. Dogs are frequently "Returned" after neutering to diferent areas from where they were caught.
