I have an idea for a new project to form a band playing 60s music. We have a bass player, drummer and singer. Looking for lead and rythem guitarists. Anyone interested give me a call on 0533 871 1927.

do you not think that the 60's music scene here is rather overdone? What's wrong with the 70's/80's, by the mid 70's pop music had properly developed....and most numbers needed more than 3 chords,is that perhaps the stumbling block?..........

Tenakoutou,,You are undoubtedly correct but ,the quality of the music improved greatly with the far more advanced musical abilities, led primarily by the American/UK artists.....As well as advanced electronic "GIZMO'S" which are a vital part of 70's/80's pop music...........I just think moving on from Elvis and the Beatles, might freshen the rather "wooden sound" of the 60's....Even Tony Blackburn got tired of it ...ha ha..

Thing about 50's/60's music - you could whack them out easy on guitar - plus the fact that you could hear the lyrics and whistle, or sing them, at work, in the bath, etc., etc., - synthethisers largely 'killed' home guitarists' music! Somebody on this forum [in another posting] remarked that your 'Martin' guitar is duff - I dunno about that, but I always use 'Martin Light' strings on my accoustic guitars!

I use Martin custom light strings,As for my Martin guitar being "DUFF"it may well be ,they(C.F.Martin&co) have only been guitar makers since 1830,could be they need a little more time to build a good one?I will E-Mail them to see if they have made a playable one yet...I still think a move to a more up to date period of music would be welcome,at leased for my taste..Keep on Strumming lol

Dear Tenakoutou, much like yourself I am a "home guitarist"/busker, and often play guitar in the bathroom, hard walls =great acoustics...but three chords would make something like "Hotel California" rather challenging..."Heart of Gold" however is relatively easy to play but difficult to sing in the correct key..... IMHO...

martin and tenakoutou I have been told SO many time that there are a lot of very talanted people over here playing all kinds of instruments but I have found it vary hard to find people who are willing or wanting to get involved in a band. From what I have found, there are no people here who play bass guitar and to get someone to play a keyboard well I don't want to go there. For a lot of 60s music you need a lead/rythem, bass and drums but with 70s/80s you must have a keyboard. The other thing is that I want to have fun playing music so I am not trying to get rich. The good news is that I have found a bass player, lead guitar so just looking for rythem guitar. Anyone interested?

Glenn ! its Bloody ard here to get anything like a "good" band together thats why I gave up ! I larf at the "insignificant" people (when you see them play you realise) who post on here about artists who use backing tracks, even if they are self generated and performed, but I would not ever criticise another artist (not even under a false I.D) no matter what ! good luck and shame about turning rough metal into gold ! regards Barry
