i was chatting to a buisness associate this morning who happens to be a greek cypriot and we were discussing the forth coming talks in september and he tells me that the greeks will ask for the mountain flags too be removed and kemal ataturk statues to be minimized and then tells me if the turks agree they must mad. has anyone else heard any such stories or is it just gossip from the london greeks.

The flags and all statues of President Attaturk and Dr Kucuk are sacrosant as far as I am concerned.



Best flag of all is one etched on mountainside which is perfectly framed at the Cyprus Mall on south side, through the windows at food court. We think the place was designed by a TC to frame the flag so perfectly

Just suppose for a minute that the solution was a united island. What flag would be used? Would the 'old' Turkish flag still be relevent and allowed on the mountain? Could it be a deal breaker?

remove em `all and agree on a new flag to signal a new start for all, fitting for a new era, time to assign all those issues to the history books. heres to a bright new future. the new trnc has more chance of success than the part of england i currently live. grab the chance while we all can and lets go forward while we can, in another 34 years where will you be, eh?
