| UK news reports that Birmingham airport is closed to all air traffic and current flights are being diverted to Midlands and Manchester airports. It is believed that a light Cessna Aircraft has crashed and there are casualties. I believe that there is a flight to Birmingham around 5 am tomorrow from Ercan and there may of course be others. Whilst it may be likely that the airport soon resumes normal service there could be a resultant delay to landing and takeoff slots for some time. Those who are due to travel may wish to liaise closely with anyone who may be meeting them to keep inconvenience to a minimum. Wishing a safe journey with as little delay as possible for all those travelling. |
