There have been various threads in the last few months questioning my honesty. This will be my only post on this subject:



My wife and I were given some money to help us to start a business. The first we knew that the donors wanted anything back was a newspaper report in which they said that the money was a loan rather than a gift.

They then instructed a solicitor and the case went to court. The judge heard the evidence and ruled that there was no case to answer. Costs were awarded in our favour and the judge refused to allow an appeal. She also ruled that the case could not be brought again.

We were fully exonerated of all charges against us.

Knowing the characters of some of the people in North Cyprus, I have always distanced myself from all financial dealings with the Cheshire Home. The only time I have ever dealt with money is in counting the proceeds from the collection boxes with other volunteers.

I would like to thank those who have posted in my defence.

Does this mean that we have complete faith in the legal system here and whatever conclusion they reach is right? If so this obviously has ramifications for another case which is struggling to a conclusion. So we are, after all, not able to pick and choose between legal proceedings are we? I bet we will?

Not sure what your asking me to give a rest too. you asked what Star ! seemed to me that you did not maybe read my post..I responded by saying the wishing star..Maybe just even maybe these pensioners involved in this serious thread may even be wishing that they had not met this Hal man or that they could have their money back. Has it ever been stated that they recived any back either by themselves or Hal at all...and that is yet another question I guess !

We have heard 1 side to 1 story.Is only the defence allowed in a court?



Speaking for myself,i would like to hear the other sides story before i start to donate again to this charity,in fact,any charity,as this all puts a bad taste in my mouth.

I personally have give around nearly £700 to charity in the last year,i feel that is alot for 1 person,multiply that by , whatever figure you think donates regular,and then look at the amount of money being slung around any willy nilly, it is scary.

Or do you wish to sweep every matter that does matter under the carpet,i wish to donate to worthwhile charities for worthwhile causes,but when i see stories like this,it makes me think otherwise,and if we all think this way,there is a diverse affect on the end of the chain,no matter how much in every pound or TL gets to the people who matter.

If i give a pound,id like to see a pound go to the people im giving that pound to,i know that is difficult,but that is my view when im offering my donations,or charity must start at home.
