I have been a customer of Extend since its inception and was always pleased with the service until this last year when there has been nothing but problems. In the past I have recomended several people to them. I got back from holiday to find I had no internet and when I rang they said they would send someone to check it. It was 9 days before they got to me despite several phone calls and visits to the office. That was about 3 weeks ago. Since then the internet has been intermittent. Using Skype is a waste of time. You lose it as the internet go's off , sometimes for a minute or up to half an hour. Friends have told me that they are having the same trouble , so if anyone from EXTEND reads this perhaps they could explain what the problem is and when it will be rectified.

Same for me! Been with them years, but in the last three months the service had been up and down, will certainly change to another provider when my contract expires.

I am with Nethouse and have had very similar problems for the last month!!!!!!!! Is it a general internet problem in TRNC or even Turkey, or is it just us?

Hi there Mr. Carndi: Can u please lemme know your real name & a phone number so we can do something about yout internet Sir? ASAP... As far as the cutoffs go, yes there's been quite a few and most had to do with the telecom side of the internet. But if its as interimittent as you and Mr. stockiefan have described, then i guess it definitely require a second look. So please Sir let us know your good name plus a number so i can look into it personally. Thank You

we were told by a computer wizz that there had been a solar shower and that was not helping!!!!!!!!!!! we've had sun spots being blamed. We were the same in Karsiyaka too. Extned were not the only providers have problems. we were told that nearly all the providers were having problems and that it was to do with Turkey. Yet again the buck is passed to turkey. they are all as bad as one another. Sue

The buck has its trace... All the ISP's here get internet via the same route... from Turkey. None of the ISP's here have any other valid / legal option. So when the buck is passed to Turkey, most of the times it get its due. ;)

I too have had a ton of problems with Extend. The internet would just drop out for several hours, very problematic as my wife works from home and is essentially helpless without it. It took us several times complaining, but they did come to the house a while back and check some things and there was some sort of setup issue that had occured after an update or when they were installing it or something and it's been better since then. Might be worth calling them up and getting them out to the house. Ours still drops occasionally but nothing like as bad as the last few months when it was almost every day for at least an hour.

re msg 6 >>All the ISP's here get internet via the same route... from Turkey. None of the ISP's here have any other valid / legal option<< That's an interesting point.. A member from here went to TR for a week and got perfect connectivity to my UK VPN for a week - in many places - but return to 'TRNC' to a 'cr*p' connection. If it isn't a 'LEGAL' requirement, I'm sure I can think of a way to get better connectivity. I'd buy a 'rump' RoC back-end connection and beam it over the green-line and then distribute it wirelessly. For those who are TOTALLY fed up and want an independent route ask Iceman about two way internet via satellite.. it isn't 'cheap' to set up, but if you just want browsing, SKYPE, email AND reliability, it is a good option.

Hi Carndi, I have also had exactly the same problem with the internet for the last 4/5 weeks. Losing internet for long periods of time and skype is a total waste of time. When on skype the speech is blurred and very high pitched. I have been into the extend office twice both times being told it is a general problem, and told someone would come out to my home and check things out, after almost two weeks i am still waiting for them to arrive. needless to say i am already looking for a new provider, just seems like they just are not bothered.

Extend have been out this morning and the young man brought a square box to replace for the round dish ( thats the extent of my technical knowledge ) and having climed down from the roof pressed the button for the internet and it has been great since. Skype is good. Rang my family in UK and it was clear as a bell. Thank you FLAWWW ( Atif ) you were true to your word. Bob

Flawww You can come and do the same to my installation. I'm the person mentioned in Msg11 where connection to a UK VPN whilst in Ankara worked perfectly but a bloody nightmare through Extend, near on impossible in TRNC. I've phoned your helpline many times who promise to phone back but rarely do! The best one was a reply to tell me somebody would phone me back with a solution, but never did! My email richardbgray@hotmail.com I await your communication with trepidation! Richard
