please help snake in pump room

Please help we have a snake in our pump room it is just over a foot long and is grey with black markings can we poison it? if so with what or how else can i get rid of it??? advice please.

As the mother of a son who kept snakes as pets in his bedroom at home and at university, I know some people do not like them; BUT poison it why would you want to do that? Poison causes so much harm and death on this island already.

Ask the belediere or try to find a reptile lover to move it. Generally snakes do not attack unless threatened, this one is probably hibernating.

It is actually illegal to kill snakes here, please do try to get the Belediye to remove it for you rather than kill it.

You can also use your pool net and pole to get it out if you have one [just pick it up in the net and let it go]

Get a length of 1" plastic pipe and put a length of rope through it with a loop at the end, and both other ends to the end you can hold and pull the loop tight. Put it in the pump room and be patient, get the snake to cross the rope loop and then pull it tight. The snake will be held in the loop safely and away from you, then take it somewhere safe close by and release.

A length of builder's boxing plank, rough surfaced [not smooth!] placed at not too steep an angle, if possible, and the snake will soon leave on its own accord. Considering that most Cyprus snakes can climb up a vertical stuccoed wall, an angled plank should be snakes' play to it!
