It seems you are pushing this co..

Is that the REAL reason someone I know with - with two phone lines - was persuaded by you to go wireless when they could have had ADSL ?! ;)

Pushing co...? I received an offer email from the Nethouse head and thought to post it on here

The reason we do not advise ADSL is due to there being constant problems with phone lines.....we have had alot of customers who switch from ADSL to WDSL.

To be totally fair Mark, H & N do have a point about the unreliability of landlines here.

We got ours in Sept. 2002 after 6 mths hassle & cost. I do now wonder why we ever bothered? The first few years were okay, but then we started to get problems with the landline being out of action & it was difficult to get TRNC Telecoms to come & repair. This always took several weeks at the very least.

Things have now gone from bad to worse & the landline has now been out of action for 15 months & despite frequent requests from us to get it repaired, nothing has ever been done.

We used dial up internet until mid 2007, but since then have been forced to use wireless, despite the fact that ADSL would now be available to us at a much lower cost.

Msg 8

'free internet service' (sic)

I like how this reads, free Internet service, when, by whom and about bloody time too after years of rip-off charges for well below par ISP service by all the companies.

I see how many folks connections work [ well don't] in 'TRNC' and have been in Sat comms [ involving data ] LONG before TV stuff..

If *I* could have wired over wireless - I'd take it...

I appreciate that doesn't apply to all locations - but GENERALLY.

RARE is the time I'd advise someone to go wireless over ADSL - especially if close to the exchange.

So, can it be that the ADSL solutions in 'TRNC' are SO bad ?

BTW.. an interesting graphic showing the spread of 'fast' internet usage and one can even see the backbone infrastructure as it appears.

Hi HNComputers,

Have had a look at the prices above, they are the same as the prices on the Nethouse flyer.

1024 Kbps 960tl for 1 year.

Does this mean if I pay 960tl, I will get 18 months internet connection?

Navek

Yes, I have the same question as Msg #13. I pay 90tl a month 1024kbs wireless right now. So that is 1080tl for the year if I pay month by month. So are the prices shown the full 100% price, not including the 50% discount if signing up for a year?

Thanks,

Matt

Jenny, you have the patience of a saint ... I would be going 'ballistic'

I HAVE clients on ADSL and have heard only one moan about it in comparison with wireless they had before..

The people I refer to have TWO working, reliable phones and are close to an exchange. I am still VERY surprised they were persuaded - and they were persuaded - to to go wireless.

I have advised them to get ADSL and they will be able to compare.

Matt47r,

You must be paying 95tl a month for 1024kbps....of course the more monthly subscriptions you sign up for the bigger the discount.

For the 1024kbps it is 960tl for the yearly subscription + you get another 6 months for free therefore you're actually paying 53TL a month for this offer.

Mmmmm - If your friends that have taken up wdsl and are not happy about it please get THEM to contact myself or Nethouse head office and inform them that any remaining subscriptions can be exchanged over to ADSL if they WISH

Thanks

You don't get off so 'lightly'.... You know VERY well that these ppl arrived WISHING to have ADSL - with kit to connect to ADSL - presently redundant - and were 'persuaded' by YOU to go wireless.

I'll suggest they use a third company to get ADSL, and if it works out better, I hope you'd refund their money

Naturally, if it is worse *I* will come on here "H&N were correct and *I* was wrong" and I'll pay their ADSL bill - how's THAT ! ?

u wrote "Coverage in Kucuk Erenkoy is up and running at the moment...."

we r living in Kucukerenkoy and we need wireless connection, can u provide that.

but pls note that you have hidden your antenna among the buildings in Crystal Bay Marina so your workers couldn't catch any signal from there in summer. I think it was not planned good enough to serve to the whole area. why don't u put that antenna to the top of an apartment?

Hi HNC Computers

I am thinking of switching to Nethouse Networks from Extend.....so would there be an initial installation charge? If so how much? Also, how reliable is their connection?

HER INDOORS,

Unfortunately you would have to wait until nearer the time to pay for any subscriptions - if the wireless offer is still available until February then of course you can take advantage of it

Yudu392,

I cannot tell you if you would have superb signal, however we could arrange an engineer to pop over and check to see if you will get signal and if so a strong one, then we could go ahead and set you up

If you get lots of people signing up to this is it likely to comprimise the over all service and signal strength through having too many users?

Or will you put a portion of this added income back into improving the system, to cope with the extra numbers, allowing you to guarantee the speeds you are selling?

Cheers,

G
