| Have a look at the multitude of different equipment you can source from http://www.softcleanwater.co.uk Some is easy self installation and some you need a competent handyman or plumber for. The problem is not so much in the tank but on the showerheads and the heating elements. Polyphosphates are suitable IF you are not drinking the water (to drink they are harmless but can have residues). Electronic units are OK but are best suited to “running water”. A conventional resin softener is best but you have many added problems with plumbing and removal of the brine waste when it cleanses itself. Personally I would go for electronic units first. | Pipie Msg 4 - Yes it does and not only does it cost more to run but reduces the working life of the element. |

| For the amount of time you spend in TRNC it will not make a lot of difference, if you lived there for any length of time it would make a difference, unless where you live in UK the water you have very hard water. |
