The tickets for the big New Year Lottery (Milli Piyango) are now ready at the Ozankoy Bookshop. The first three prizes are won by one number only each and are for the equivalent of £15 million sterling and £1 million and then numerous other giant prizes. You can buy a full share ticket or a half or a quarter ticket - why not pop in to the Bookshop and have a look.

Is this lottery open to all? Do you need to be "resident" in TRNC?

Hi HotHippo Yes before we got our licence to sell the weekly lottery tickets and the Piyango the government had to have the whole thing run by the lawyers and it had to be ratified by the Council of Ministers. Both expat residents and tourists can win!
