Katie Price has vowed to take on Channel 4 for their stance on the controversial "jokes" made by Scots comedian Frankie Boyle. The comic made several bad taste jokes aimed at Katie's disabled son Harvey during his Tramadol Nights show for the broadcaster. Katie spoke out after Channel 4 bosses ignored her calls to halt a repeat screening on the show. http://entertainment.stv.tv/tv/215317-katie-price-takes-on-channel-4-over-boyles-bad-taste-jokes/ where should comedians draw the line..??

I think Boyle is great and his gags are no worse than what you get sent by text. It's not a direct comparison, but I would say Katie Price has damaged her son more by her poor parenting and a chaotic lifestyle than Frankie has by a poor-taste jokes out of the boy's presence.

Feelings about Katie price are unimportant; but in this day and age ridiculing disability shows complete lack of care, humanity, morals and understanding. Even more disgusting in this case as the target is a child. No wonder society is falling apart if people think that that kind of humour is acceptable.

If they have to mock the afflicted to get a laugh, then they are not worth watching and should brought to task for their comments

If a comedian has to be told where to draw the line, then they are not a comedian - it means they will go to any lengths to get someone - anyone, to laugh. To appeal to the lowest common denominator is scraping the barrel and indicative of clutching at straws. I once watched Boyle for a few moments and didn't begin to snigger; realising immediately he had NO sense of humour whatsoever and was relying on the fact there will always be someone somewhere who will laugh at another's adversity, his default, knowing that human nature can be very cruel - if only because "there but for the grace of God........" et cetera. I heard Jimmy Carr saying tonight on QI (love that programme) "I told them I was going to be a comedian when I grow up, and they all laughed. Are they laughing now"? Boyle no doubt, can empathise.........

Well, I messed that up - he said (Jimmy Carr) "I told them, when I grow up, I'm going to be a comedian - well, they're not laughing now"!!!!!!!!!!! (Think I got it right this time).......

I recently watched... 'If I could reach out through your TV and strangle you I would' by Frankie Boyle and it was so outwardly aggressive and offensive to his audience that I found it unsuitable for general viewing in our home. The cruellest jokes about disability I've ever heard (way crueller than Frankie's) came from the disabled boys, girls and young adults at Lord Mayor and Lady Treloar's in Froyle and Alton where my mum was a matron - but that was their way of making light of their predicament. A survival tactic..... in a cruel world. One whole section of the show was taken up with a tirade of abuse about ginger haired people which the audience should have found ironic as Frankie Boyle is himself ginger but by that time they were so in shock I don't think the majority really understood... he had gone too far. Frankie has carved himself a new niche in comedic terms by turning on his audience... Richard Herring's Hitler Moustache tour has similarly-veined attack.

its disgusting typical of ch 4 to make fun on tv of the disabled is bad enough, to suggest that the disabled child has incestuous tendencies is down right out of order! I hope they sack the editor ban Frankie Boyle. and fine chan 4 perhaps all the chan 4 execs should have to work with disabled children for a month to see if they can see the funny side of being disabled !

Several months ago I received a really bad joke about Jordan's son via text - I've seen Frankie's 'vile joke' about her son on Youtube - the text was a lot worse I can tell you - let's just say it mentioned Gary Glitter.

Msg 12...Agree totally...Boundries are there for a reason. Is it humour in any form to suggest incest between a disabled boy and his mother, And who would actually find it funny ? Frankie Boyle is no more than a bully.

eager - I think he is more than a bully - I would say he is a dysfunctional inadequate with real issues on so many levels that he refuses to get therapy or counselling for - otherwise how could one explain his anger and viciousness and 'attack' mode, every time he opens his mouth......

Anyone who remembers Bernard Manning, remembers an uncouth, misogynistic, xenophobic polemicist - and since when was being a comedian, a job? Boyle is a gormless yob who couldn't hold down a job if he tried -so instead he taps into the lowest common denominator, who have more money than sense, to pay to listen to a knuckle dragging neanderthal verbally abuse the weak and vulnerable, who cannot defend themselves.......

" to listen to a knuckle dragging neanderthal verbally abuse the weak and vulnerable, who cannot defend themselves......." And that's just his audience! Actually he can be a very clever comedian but he seems to have got very angry all of a sudden. So much so that the aggression has overtaken his wit. Unlike some of his classier colleagues his humour is not 'joined-up'. The likes of Eddie Izzard, John Bishop and Rhod Gilbert will take you on a journey through the weird imaginings of their comic genius and bring you full circle to deliver masterpieces of comedy... Frankie just spouts a never ending stream of abuse which soon wears thin and becomes cringe-worthy. He needs to take more drugs no doubt.

get a grip...Boyle is brilliant, his jokes are close to the bone but so what!!! If you are easily offended then dont watch his shows... I frankly couldnt care less what Katie Price thinks, she is clearly an idiot.. Perhaps her son wouldnt be the target of jokes if she didnt parade her family around like a bloody circus.. This may not be the pc view shared by the maurading wrinkly expat hoardes of Northern Cyprus, while they spout about how vulgar society has become as the quaff their cheap local booze, but I dont really care.. Mines not a high horse... more like a shetland..

Does Mr Boyle hold a recognised certificate to confirm his is a comedian ? Trying to take the pi@@ out of a child that is innocent for fun is a very low and cowardly thing to do. people that think it is humorous.......are even worse. For once I think Ms Price has the public on her side I feel sorry for Mr Boyle as he is very unattractive, indeed ugly and clearly an attention seeker.

Tiggy, That's the sad thing about it... he actually can be very funny indeed and was once one of the quickest witted panel members on Mock The Week.. What went wrong is anybody's guess but he seems to have gone from wit to shit in one fell swoop. All I can think is, somebody has hurt him badly and the depression caused has spilled over into his stage act. Now he just seems bitter... beyond reason and what he thinks passes for irony no longer works for him in a comedic way. It's not big and it's not clever.
