Today i went to monexchange in Karakum to change £400 for my car tax so not feeling to happy,

the young lad behind the counter cheered me up know end by giving me an early christmas present

of a bottle of famous grouse. So things not all bad in North Cyprus.

As always on par with all the other exchanges 2.36.5 no need for the sarky remarks .

Thought this might bring a little cheer to some people.

Not being sarky - just interested. Glad to see someone getting ' something for nothing' for a change.

Best of luck to you.

Enjoy your wee low flyers

Yes No1...lots of tourists here. They arrive by the coach load, wander around for a while, get ripped off and then go to somewhere else. The canal, the river the countryside is a magnet for people who live in towns or cities just an hour or two away.

blackbird. It's not just where you live, it's everywhere unfortunately.

I heard a London cabbie gloating about charging a visitor to the UK over double the going rate to take him to his destination.

Msg 17 Blackbird - Lots of tourists here as well - lots of them coming to visit the "Booktown" Hay on Wye. Can't drive through town in the summer as they are all over the roads ambling about oblivious to traffic.

Wales is beautiful, so many places to see. Especially big pit (Pwll Mawr), three cliffs,

oh gosh, too many places to mention, all the little places tourists don't know about,

a bit like TRNC really.

Flowerfairy - You are so right - you have to get off the beaten track to discover the beautiful unspoilt places in Wales or TRNC.

Yes you are right, Wales has some beautiful places...and so has TRNC...and so has many other counties. You just have to go and find them!

I often use this exchange and last week I caught him just as he had locked the door, ready to go home. I explained that I had used up all my lira and needed cash for the weekend, so he exchanged me a hundred quid from his own wallet, at the correct rate. I didn't get a bottle of plonk but he was prepared to give me a bit of his time, which is far more important to me. Thank you my young friend!

This company is very good to deal with.

I too have arrived just as they were locking up and without hesitation they went back in and from their own wallets/handbags produced the Lira I required.

Top marks for service, they always give a good rate and parking is easy - why go anywhere else??

I popped in last week and got a bottle of red wine,

changed less than £400 though.

Would've preferred Grouse, don't drink wine :-(

Won't go to waste though, as wife does

Thanks' monexcyprus,

Navek
