ipod copy songs help please

My friends ipod is also registered to me puter ,and we share connection,



My songs in my Library or playlists i can transfer to his .

He has album i would like on mine and he has lost or stored the cd away.



so how when i plug his ipod in do i transfer his library or at least copy the song into my library



i tried to export file but cnt suss it out

Try plugging his ipod in,open itunes,top left hand corner click on File then add folder to library,when ne box pops up click computer on left hand side and the ipod icon should show up as one of the devices with removable storage.

got as far as that yesterday,then when opened folder to transfer nothing happened .

tried and failed...i see device no problems......his device only has 4 folders and around 15 songs ,yet it has 2000 plus songs,i plug in his device and i cant right click nd send song to my playlist ,nor can i drag and drop from his device to my sub folder or playlists??



can i take a created playlist from his device and send that mine or export songs to my library

If you have genius turned on and enough memory on the pc then I dont see why not.I do wish apple would make copy and paste available,make life so much easier

I have had a similar issue, I tried to copy songs from my iPhone to my pc after my pc was formatted and re-installed. I found it would not let me because the songs were not purchased via iTunes and so were not connected to my account for the device in question. Kind of copy protection system I suppose.

its not quite that ,its the way ipod is sync to my puter...if i sync his ipod i get keep his songs in my library but he wipes his clear.....not as easy as reinstalling them as he has over 2000 and me 3000 and they all will go in as one....i only want 1 albumn off it and he put that on via a cd ,then moved house and doesnt know where the disc is .....so i cant take my songs and put them on his ,but not the other way around

Try using copytrans - it allows you to manage music/video on iPods as well as iPhones without using iTunes and you can transfer from iPod/iPhone to PC and PC to iPod/iPhone without losing any of the files.
