If someone were to know my facebook password, would they be able to log in onto my facebook knowing that they 1,have my email address and 2,they have worked OUT my password.. ) and if say you use the same password for everything what would the outcome be ) Just asking out of interest how simple thing might be for others )

Hi Spider, Merry Xmas to you and yours also.

Firstly I don't go on Facebook. More importantly I think you should not use the same password for these websites. My dimple advice would be to have a seperate password and log-in I'd for every site you visit.

spider,if someone knows your e mail address thats not a big problem but if they know your password then they can get into your facebook or any place where you use that password,if you think someone knows it i would suggest you changed your password,as they can log in as you.

I would advise you to change your passwords on a monthly basis......easy to do and just a bit more protection for you......

I have no wish to be in dispute with anyone here, but it is a little simplistic to say every log-on site should have it's own password. And that password should be changed periodically. That's the sort of advice companies such as banks dish out to their on-line banking customers as an easy get-out.

For years I have been using a bit of software called RoboForm. I've just counted my list of log-on sites I visit and it comes to nearly 140. You're going to be doing some serious work each month coming up with a new list of passwords for that lot. And typing in your passwords doesn't counteract the key-loggers! I've trusted it with my bank and card details, safe in the knowledge everything is locked up tight. Never had any problems, and I do a LOT of online shopping!

By the way, each and every site in my list has it's own 15 digit random password. There aren't enough computers in the world to crack that lot!

Thanks Alan999, Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the both of you. I have decided that I no longer need other sites happy with just the my facebook and this, I feel that if I joined the 44 facebook their would be some that I would not know and much prefer keeping mine to just my friends and family, even I delete some from time to time as I start to if their not posting why bother...clear it all out )

Msg 1

The spider, dropping down from twig,

Unfolds a plan of her devising,

A thin premeditated rig

To use in rising.

And all that journey down through space,

In cool descent and loyal hearted,

She spins a ladder to the place

From where she started.

Thus I, gone forth as spiders do

In spider's web a truth discerning,

Attach one silken thread to you

For my returning.
