Hi Alex, Welcome to Cyprus 44 and welcome to TRNC. Lots of bargains around at the moment with cars being sold by private individuals. Might be an idea to initially hire a cheap car while you look around. When you come here you will be given a 30 or 90 day visa to get you going, which gives you lots of time to start your residency. Bring lots of photocopies of your passport, sales contract etc. with you as you will need them. You will find a lot of help on here if you ask as lots of really nice genuine people about. Good Luck with the move. Chris

hi Alex, get different opinions / perspectives about life in the TRNC - Rent (home / car / household goods / furniture) until you know whats what.............. if it doesn't work for you - you can then pack your bags and move elsewhere............... A lot of the negativity (no pun intended) - relates to Brits jumping in feet first buying houses / cars / household furnishings etc) and regretting it big time..... oh - and between Nov & April it is much colder than you could imagine over night.......

Thank you all, Thats a good start, I have been trolling about here and their, waiting in cues only to have to wait some more when someone pushes in, I have too many good manners to start arguing in public, In a short amount of time I am beginning to see that most others do not. May well just be beginners bad luck, Happy christmas everyone!

Hi Alex welcome and copliments of the season, N.N. is a bit negative about TRNC. but really he's agreat guy and he tells it like it is. He came from a little place in the West Midlands, called Old Hill, and I think he misses it. Life in TRNC is very good. It,s what you make it. if you asked me to compare to UK, marks out of 10. TRNC 8 UK 3. Just enjoy it make the most of it and stay positive. Always remember no where is perfect.

Get out and about and meet people Brits and English speaking TC's will help you a lot. Many local bar owners have good information and also good language skills - if they can't help you they will know somehone who will. Good Luck - We moved her in February and have had a great time and learnt our way around by using the above methods. We have both British and TC friends and also others with great contacts just by going out and meeting people.

Life in the TRNC is preferable to" inner city life" whether it is for you depends to a large extent on what you are used to and your ability to do without !..As JohhnyLee says it's not perfect, but the sun shines and the Locals are generally good people....Be on your "Guard" as to dealings with some Estate Agents,Lawyers and the like..I wish you all the best...........Tread carefully............
