Can I use a credit card to withdraw cash from an ATM in Girne? Alternatively, can I use it to get cash from a currency exchange? I have a feeling that you can only use a debit card in a machine there.

If you withdraw cash using the Credit Card facilities you will start to incur interest charges at the card issuer's astronomic rates from the off.... If you have a debit card it's like taking the money from your current account.

The rates are not too bad but you do pay a premium.
