Monarch.

Very strict on baggage allowance just going over 4 kilos costs thirty six pounds, it happened to us just paid it no problem.

Monarch staff However were very rude to students who managed to get through check in with large hand luggage . just before boarding the plane Monarch staff were very unpleasant in there attitude to towards these students. ''Yes'' I would agree that there hand luggage was possibly to heavy and that staff had there jobs to do, but no way should these students should have been spoken to in that way, disgraceful in my opinion. Monarch need to evaluate there staff training .

Monach and other airlines have fantastic staff training which would shock most people (my daughter is Cabin Manager on an airline) She has worked for her airline for 23 years. The aircraft 'staff' are highly trained health and safety experts and look after ALL passengers. The students, no doubt will be drinking on board then they need to get heavy large luggage from overhead compartments - no doubt if one of these landed on your head you would blame the staff for allowing it to happen. There are a few cabin crew who control an aircraft with up to 300 people on board - it can only be done by having rules and regulations and ensuring that customers abide by them. If an aircraft has an emergency situation they are your lifeline.

I am a Trainer and Assessor in Health and Safety and Customer Service. I have flown Monach on numerous occasions and would highly recommend them. In view of the posting above - this confirms my view that Monach staff do a good job.

In order to keep their jobs on the airlines Cabin Crew

Must take exams

- Every year to keep their jobs

- On very aircraft they fly

and must KNOW EVERY aspect of the aircraft, locations of equipment and aircraft procedures etc.

If they fail the exams they are out of a job - how many people would put up with then working arrangements

I have flown with Monarch on many occasions, not just to Cyprus but many other destinations, I have always found their staff to be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional, I along with Hildysmith confirm they do a good job. You have to remember they are dealing with the public and that sometimes can be difficult, so I would recommend Monarch highly.

Monarch allow 10kilos of hand luggage and that is more than enough,

If people want to take in excess of this they should check in a case

We flew with Monarch this time and all the staff were very helpful and polite. Some of the passengers on our flight had hand luggage that looked well over size and weight, they should not have tried to take so much on board as hand luggage. One girls bag was so heavy she had to ask her friend to take one of the straps to help her lift it!

I have flown with Monarch, both charter and scheduled, on many occasions and never had a problem.

Always found the staff very helpful.

Being rude. Never.

As said elsewhere as pipie flew out here recently is is fair to surmise that she is talking about her departure from a UK airport recently, may be wrong but I think it is servisair staff who handle the check in and boarding procedures on behalf of Monarch, but I do stand to be corrected, I also join the list of satisfied customers, I have never had a bad experience with them.
