Been up since 4 this morn watching the 4th Test...

...and what a remarkable test match its been so far, with England knocking over the Aussies for just 98. In return we were 157 with out loss.

Playing cricket on Boxing day is tradition with our so called friends over in the convict colony, and what makes me laugh was how Sky News were showing the Aussies practising on Xmas day and going on about how xmas had been cancelled.

To the tune of Yellow Submarine)

In the town where I was born, there lived a man who was a thief

And he told me of his life, stealing bread and shagging sheep.

So they put him in the nick, and then a magistrate he went to see

He said "put him on a ship, to the convict colony"

You all live in a convict colony, a convict colony, a convict colony

You all live in a convict colony, a convict colony, a convict colony

The England TEAM have scored 444 for 5, that is surely good enough, well done to all of them.

I,m in Auz now until until the 2nd Jan. They are not happy at all and you can take that to the bank, watched the game live today on tele with an aussie family friend. when it was Eng 300 plus for 5, I don,t know for the life of me what upset him more, the score or me taking the Piss, He thinks Ponting will go. he might not be wrong, it said in the aussie papers today it was there worst inings with England since 1887

Day 3 close of play

Aust 6/169 STILL 246 RUNS BEHIND!

The Aussies love the English, you might find it quite strange

'Cos we sent them all down under, with only balls and chains

And when they see the English, they always shout and scream

But when they had the chance to vote they voted for the Queen!

God save your gracious Queen

Long live your noble Queen

God save your Queen (you're a convict)

Send her victorious

Happy and glorious

Long to reign over you

God save your Queen.

"All over"

Ponting has to go, and Clarke has been poor as well, there is talk that Usman Khawaja will take over from Clarke,

Forty years ago, Bill Lawry was sacked as Australian captain under similar circumstances. The difference then was that a vice-captain, Ian Chappell, had been groomed at length, and was ready to oversee the necessary generational change. A greater problem for Australia than even Ponting’s form is that his deputy, Michael Clarke, has gone from fours and sixes a year ago to six and sevens today.

I lost good money at the WACA and didn't put a bet on at the MCG, it's a funny game this cricket.

See Matula, that's why they need Aboriginals in the 'Australian' team... like that's ever going to happen.

I must say your taking the England team to task for having too many South Africans amongst the ranks a bit one-sided....

To retain the ashes at the MCG easily tops winning the Ashes at the Oval.

Ponting , without Mcgrath and Warne

Is hopeless and only 5ft tall

He's skipper but now so bitter

As we claim the Ashes once more

Jonny Trott

(to the tune of Only Fools and Horses)

Stick your passport in your pocket

And your kitbag in the van

Cos if you want the Ashes

And you don't mind Saffers

Then brother, he's your man

Cos where he comes from is no mystery

But he's gonna lead us home to an Ashes victory

A song for him was driving us beserk

But then we thought that Jonny Trotter works

England are looking good in Sydney but the weather has intervened.

BTW Matula.... Usman Khawaja.... is not very a 'Australian' name for one so dedicated to racial purity in cricket teams is it?

Ashes: England wrap up 3-1 series win over Australia

England won the final Ashes Test in Sydney by an innings and 83 runs to wrap up the series 3-1 and secure their first win down under in 24 years.

The Aussies began the last day in a hopeless position at 213-7, 151 runs behind, but Peter Siddle and Steve Smith kept England's champagne on ice.

Siddle finally went for 43 when slog-sweeping spinner Graeme Swann.

James Anderson removed Ben Hilfenhaus before Chris Tremlett bowled Michael Beer with the score on 281.

Smith was unbeaten on 54 having added 86 with Siddle, who saw out the first 25 minutes of Friday's action before rain struck for 40 minutes to keep England and their supporters frustrated for a while longer.

Luv it, being a proud Pom and not a down under "Full Tosser". They were owed that one to stop their crowing about the Rugby World Cup Final win against England years ago with a straight arm knock into touch which should have been a penalty try to England. "Tied the Kangaroo down sport, tied the Kangaroo down " "Weeping Matilda, Weeping Matilda" Well, they did bring "sledging" into cricket !!

Chris Woakes stars as England seal world record T20 win

Chris Woakes was the hero on his England debut as Paul Collingwood's side produced a record eighth win in a row in Twenty20 internationals.

In a tense finale in Adelaide, Woakes, 21, hit the winning single off the last ball, finishing unbeaten on 19.
