Where does one draw the line waddo, in the instance you refer to I think the poster was merely trying to ascertain where the person lived so that the proper advice could be given re growing - possibly a point that eluded you in your haste to get the typing finger in action

Lazy days, not at all. The "rules" on this board are "elastic" in the extreme as they should rightly be, I was just pointing out that everyone bends them to their own wish.

It is either a free speach board where anything (within reason) is posted provided it is not ofensive or a rigidly constrained board where only strict rules apply, which would you rather have?

I would rather see the type of post as in msg number 1 above than another thousand complaints about how bad the TRNC is at doing things. As an answer for you - there is no line to draw and that is why we have "mods" to police (don't like that word) the whole thing..

In any event I was refering to msg number 4 on this trail - a point that possibly was missed by yourself perhaps?? But then, why should I need to point this out to you at all. Be of good cheer and enjoy the festive season.

I am sure most would hope that even the most ardent rule basher would accept the odd person looking for any lost friend where they are pretty sure the person is NC.

johndp, point taken and fully understood. One personal msg and the trail gets closed, another and it stays open but there must be some lee way or 90% would be closed straight away. Not picking on anyone at all just pointing out that there needs to be (and most times there is) some "slack" in the system to allow the board to be useful to all people who use it. Anyway, last post from me on this as this trail now well off the subject of trying to make contact with lost friends.

Naming personal info such as do you know a Burk residing in Arnold road.

In my opinion this sort of post is unwise taking on board the political situation in the TRNC it is Divuldging this sort of info is better avoided, just my thoughts !!
