Sorry I haven't got any pics but it's an unusal tree we only found this morning on our jaunt up in the mountains! We've never seen it on our usual walks but the leaf looks similar to a bay leaf, it has shiny red berries similar to holly berries and the trunk was smooth and a rich burgundy red colour - absolutely beautiful. Any ideas?

There's always a joker in the pack Goonerboy. Happy New Year to you. Booitsme was asking a genuine question, and if its the tree I think it is I doubt if you would be allowed to cut it down! Chris

Thank you so much Chris - that's the tree! I won't be attempting to chop it down but I may take a few berries to see if I can get it one to grow. It is such a beautiful tree and what a lovely website, I think I could be visiting that one a few times! And thank you goonerboy for the humour injection
