Went in on New Years Eve came out early, reason being kids running about all over the place, and the singer was way to loud, and in my opinion not very good

I was there all evening and didn't even notice the 'kids running about all over the place' so they couldnt have been that bad! Are children not allowed to enjoy themselves anymore? Ok, one or two were bursting the balloons but they were standing still to do this, not running around with them. As for the singer, Emma-Marie has a nice voice, sings a variety of songs and is very popular. Of course she was loud. The entertainers use a microphone when entertaining. If they didnt, you wouldnt be able to hear them. If you dont like noise or children, maybe you shouldnt go to a public place!

Topten i agree its not very good altho i do like the lovely emma . went in there xmas week and the behaviour in there was disgusting (staff and the woman supposedly running the place included). i wont put on here what went on but heard after that 2 tourists even had the tyres slashed on there hire car in the car park. no wonder its closed!

And can I ask why people the fire side of the of the place were left out of the mix, there was streamers and party gear on bar side tables and bugger all on our side

I would like to know why after spending most of the night there (and spending a lot of money) the party music was promply turned off just before 1.00 with people still dancing so it could be turned into the ICE disco bar? Was it we've had your money so time to move on?

We were there Christmas eve had a fantastic night



New years eve was crap could hear the singer could'nt see her as she sang only to bar side

no party atmosphere

hats etc offered to bar side only

Lots of kids running around without any supervision (which was the problem not

the fact they were there)

I have spoken with Michelle (who was running the Cabana Bar) and she is no longer working there, nor any of her staff. The behaviour of the owner on New Years Eve was appalling and I think he will find he has now 'shot himself in the foot'.

Good luck to Michelle on her next venture.

Yes is was disgusting to treat people like that. Not only the customers who had been spending money all evening, but the staff were working hard and both Michelle nor the rest of her staff deserve to be tossed aside like that.



I certainly wont be going in there anymore.

What a shame as it seemed that Michelle and her team had great potential in turning this bar into a very nice place to go, we enjoyed the Carol singing and Cherry B very much..sometime some people have no idea at all.

I have only just seen this as unable to access every day. sorry to disapoint but no i do not have anything against anyone and i am happy to give anywhere a try. there are many good bars around here, in lapta (yes jks and jessics are both very good), red lion in alsancak is also a nice bar and others in girne. if you care to read the other posts, it would seem that i am not the only person who did not enjoy my visit. it would seem that the management in charge of the bar also had issues otherwise this situation (people being tossed aside??) would not have happened would it?! i have no idea what has happened there as i havent been back since my visit at xmas but you are obviously very pro that bar and your friends, but unfortunately it would seem that many visitors and the management disagreed.

I have great respect for Michelle and her staff they were great and especially Michelle, they turned a hotel lobby into half decent bar. I for one will not go there again

Emma, I don't think you need to apologise. It seems that most of the above doesn't really have any thing to do with you (or other people/names that have been dragged in to it).

If people don't like the type of music that you sing, then they will know next time not to go where you are performing. I have only seen you once and thought you had a lovely voice, but as you say you can't always please everyone and people do have different tastes. x

I have always found Emma to be one of the performers that is concerned what her audience thinks and provides a good range of material. I know for a fact that her Roadie ( ok her Dad) always does a sound check. Not saying that others don`t but have not witnessed that.

We want to explain what exactly happened on New Years Eve. As a hotel management we decided on DJ Buseda from Turkey on Cabana Bar just approx 1 month before New Years Eve. We also arrange adverts on facebook and newspapers about DJ performing at Cabana Bar. Michelle also knew about DJ. Michelle did some other arrangements like Emma for New Years Eve. We did not say anything as it is OK for Emma to sing till 1:00. But We think Michelle didn't like the DJ and left the Bar irresponsibly. And there are many people who told us that they had been pushed out by Michelle on that night at 1:00. This is why we separate our ways with Michelle. We are apologising from people who had a bad night and pushed out. Besides, we would like to thank to some staff of Michelle who stayed at the Bar till the end of the night and enjoy themselves.

from what I had heard Cabana Bar was meant to be the 'English' bar ie target English people and have entertainment for them throughout the week/year. So why couldnt the Turkish people and their entertainment stay in the place they had been all evening rather than ending the English party on a night when they also wanted to celebrate the New Year in line with the UK and their family and friends there. Where people thought they could celebrate again at 2am they were not allowed to. I also think you have been misinformed that Michelle was pushing people out at 1am, I think you will find that the looks of disgust from the Turkish people were what made most people leave! I certainly was made to feel like I shouldnt be there and that was from the Turkish guests and the Turkish staff that took over at 1am!

I wasn't there but from reading this & the explanation from Lapethos, I think they were justified. At the end of the day, Cabana is owned by Lapethos & if they had events arranged which had been advertised & had also been advised to staff, then why shouldn't they go ahead with their entertainment? It seems that Emma had already finished & there seems to be no reason that the English people could not have stayed. Infact I understand that some did stay & enjoy the disco. I know some people are friends etc, but if people looked at this from a business point of view then I'm sure they would look at it differently. If people are employees & are paid by Lapethos, then they should behave in a professional and responsible manner and having a row and walking out, does not sound particularly responsible. Apparently not all staff walked out so this does suggest that this was a clash between certain staff/management & as a business, surely Lapethos are entitled to employ reliable staff.
