| The Turkish government increased taxes and fees on many items for the next year. A Council of Ministers decree on new tax rates was published in the Official Gazetta on Thursday. New rates will take effect on January 1. According to government's new tax arrangements, motor vehicle tax, stamp duty, special communication tax and fees, as well as inheritance and transfer tax were raised by 7.7 percent. Fixed fee on special communication tax rose to 34 Turkish lira.
