Hi... We are an Indian couple travelling with a toddler in the last week of Oct. to Southern Cyprus. We'll be arriving and departing from Larnaca. During our two-week stay there we wish to visit N. Cyprus for a few days. Just wanted to know some procedures; like do we need a multiple entry Cyprus visa when we apply in India? And then do we separately need to apply to the Turkish embassy in India for a single entry visa for N. Cyprus? OR whats the best way to do this? Is there still a problem for visitors to go back and forth across the border? or is it relatively simple now? Getting a S. Cyprus multiple entry visa requires some complicated documents from us so was wondering whether its worth all the trouble getting a multiple entry visa at all or what?? DO help us out. I know this forum has been super helpful in the past. Thanks - Meher

Meher Crossing the border from South to North is very simple just carry your passport and they usually issue you a 90 day visa on separate piece of paper so you don't have any problems with the South. If your on foot you can just walk across at Ledra St (the main shopping st from the South), however if you drive say a hire car you will need to go to a different crossing and get separate insurance for when you are in the North. I am not sure about any specific requirements for Indian nationals but don't see why you would have any problems. Aussie

Oh really !!!! My Two Step Children from South Africa are having one Heluva job getting Visas. They have airline tickets flying from Joburg/Dubai/Larnaca return at Xmas.......and obviously will stay with us in the North. However, embassy say as they are not staying in the South they will not issue a visa. Kids said oh well we will just get a transit visa and fly a domestic from Larnaca to Ercan........duh !! Kids!! So how do 2 South Africans get a Republic of Cyprus Visa even though they are not staying in the South. Any suggestions, help etc will be appreciated.

Wearytravellers....Would it not be easier to get Turkish visa, fly Joburg -Istanbul,or Ankara, then get internal flight to Ercan with Atlasjet or Pegasus.Just an idea dont actually know if can be done, but if you dont ask you find out. there has to be some other way than all of that hassle. good luck...
