What is 'sad' is some of you don't 'get it' .. the flag is an association for many Cypriots who lost their home for no reason other than their ethnicity..

But not the Turkish Cypriots, of course, MMMMMM, who also lost their homes because of their ethnicity a decade earlier. Of course, though, they don't matter do they?

Surely both sides lost homes, not just GC,s, it's a flag for Gods sake and Turkish Cypriots are proud of it.

6M's

Ethnicity and the policies of their elected and unelected rulers and the attitudes that underlie the Politics maybe

However the latter part will be forgotten and the feelings are no doubt genuine in those circumstances.

Dear AntonySmith re msg 6

>>But not the Turkish Cypriots, of course, MMMMMM, who also lost their homes because of their ethnicity a decade earlier. Of course, though, they don't matter do they?<<

Lest you be 'confused' they matter JUST as much.. I know the significance of the flag on the mountain... and remind some folks that the sinful massacre at Tochni came AFTER the TR invasion.. decided to bring 'peace' ...

I'd have hoped you'd known that my post was to TRY and another perspective..

Hi Harold..

>>Ethnicity and the policies of their elected and unelected rulers and the attitudes that underlie the Politics maybe <<

Ethnicity decided whether Cypriots of TR / CY/ Armenian, etc., ( i.e. quite a few origins) got 'moved' - irrespective of whether they were pro-rapprochement - or not

Mark

You are seriously missing something here.

The whole situation is a farce and if people decide to buy the packs of flags and then decide to ditch the ones they do not want then it is up to them. It smacks of 'big brother' to me. And of course your Greek/Cypriot friends will be paying the bill for what could be a long and drawn out exercise in 'buck passing'.

Six Ms, having read your posts for a couple of years now, I always find them very selective on the issue of Greek Cypriots and the rights and wrongs of the Cyprus issue. I apologise now if I've got you wrong, but it is just my opinion

6Ms, I see you belong to the Cyprus Problem started in 1974 brigade. Over 100 TC Villages were ethnically clenased in 63. 5 Villages came to live in Lurucina in in that year. The terror in those peoples' faces have been with me ever since. When one signs an agreement one has to keep to it. They were very naughty boys signing the 1960 agreement and 3 months later signing Akritas to destroy it.

Play the white man will ya? It just aint cricket, especially as the ausies are bing slaughtered and all that.

Would any observations have been made if the pack included a free Klu Klux Klan flag instead of a TRNC flag ? Red flag, wave, and bull, springs to mind.
