Firstly i want to wish everyone a happy new year,secondly can ı please remind you that post is not being delivered in Ozanköy as there is no post man so please collect it from the Ozanköy Muhtar office.

There is loads of post there which makes it difficult to find your own, so it would be helpful if folk collected theirs soon.

Sorry to hijack your post Summertime but having read this, I'm wondering does that mean if post arrives you're not expecting, you'll never know about it unless you go to the Mukhtar's office?



Likewise, I'm actually in Çatalköy. I've never seen a postman on our estate, our bills get delivered by our 'security guard'. Could a similar thing happen there would you know?



Also, can anyone tell me, is it possible to send things to your Mukhtar for him to hold on to until you collect it from him - or is Ozankoy just a nice guy?

Summertime alot of ex Pats are arriving back to-day and tomorrow, after being in UK since mid December, alot should be gone by the end of the week!!!

Yes they have me back at work, just couldnt cope without me! Am only working mornings though 8 til 12.



Some post does get delivered to our office by mistake, before i went on maternity leave i would send any post that did not belong to ozankoy back to the post office but i have been off since mid sept so anything is possible, so if you have given ozankoy as part of your address but are actually paying your bills to catalkoy it is def worth checking. There is loads of uncollected post, if you are expecting a parcel that would be kept at the post office but a notification slip would be left in the muhtar office so check.



With regards to leaving things with the muhtar and collecting later i assume you mean things that you need signing etc, all i know is that Ozankoy and Bellapais work on the same principal but am not sure about catalkoy sorry.

Are the PO boxes still being used outside the Mukhtar's office in Ozankoy? I won't renew if these are becoming obsolete.

Yes the Girne post man still brings the post to the po boxes at the same time he drops the other post off to the office.

Zoe. We went to our box out side your office and found that the wrong mail had been put in it. There were quite a lot of cards etc.

Have other people been bringing in incorrect mail from their box'es ?

Im not sure as i only started back to work on Monday, i tried to sort the post a bit today into some sort of order and there is quite alot of post there for people with PO Box numbers on the envelopes so worth popping in for a look.
